Raw Mango Chutney

The season of mangoes has started and all the blogosphere are coming up with  innovative mangoes dishes. So thought to share with  you all our all time favorite chutney. Infact it’s  K’s  favorite. 
We love to have this chutney with paratha’s , sandwiches or simply with Daal Chaawal.
And the good part is , it can be stored upto a week in a fridge. 
To the recipe.

3 small size raw green mango
1 big size garlic clove
2 Whole red chilly
1/2 tsp salt
2 -3 tsp jaggery
1/2 tsp cumin
few sprigs of green coriander about 2 tbsp chopped.

Grind the all above ingredients into fine paste. This chutney can be stored for 1 month in fridge.

  1. That looks really good. May I ask what is green mango? Do you mean unripe mango? Also what is jaggery and can I substitute it with something else? One more thing: I was wondering if you have a good recipe for mango jam? I would love to try mangos in jam. Thank you.
  2. Thanks Fatemah. Green Mango is raw mango. Jaggery is tradition indian raw sugar made from sugarcane or palm sap. In India it is called Gur. You can find it at any Indian store. If not then substitute it with sugar.
