Pressure Cooker Chicken Curry – Under 30 Minutes is a delicious , easy curry   prepared using  pressure cooker. Just under 30 minutes.

Being a working women give me independence and sometimes stress too. But it does not mean that I ignore my house work and home cooked meals. Though ordering out is sometime the easy way out but we much prefer home cooked meals on most days. For these kind of days when I am under time constraint this delicious Pressure Cooker Chicken Curry – Under 30 Minutes is my answer to it.

This recipe can be done all under 30 minutes. No frying the onion or the masalas. No bhunao which is most important part of the curries.You just add the mix of chicken and masalas in hot piping oil. Close the pan. Give 3 to 4 whistles and you are done. A little bit of cooking after reopening the cooker is required to adjust the consistency of gravy.

Ingredients

  • (I)
  • 500 gm Chicken
  • 1 big size onion paste ( grind onion to paste with water)
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 3 tbsp yogurt
  • 1 & 1/2 tsp red chilly powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  • salt to taste
  • (II)
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 3 green chilly
  • Whole garam masala : 5 to 6 peppercorn, 3 cloves, 1/2" cinnamon, 1 black cardamom, 1/4 tsp shahjeera
  • (III)
  • Chopped Coriander leaves to garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl mix together all the ingredient (I) along with chicken.
  2. Add oil to pressure cooker. Once heated add the whole garam masala and slit green chilly.
  3. Once it crackles add the chicken masala mix. Stir for few seconds.
  4. Cover with pressure cooker with lid & give 3 to 4 whistles.
  5. Once done remove from flame & cool.
  6. Open and cook till oil separates or adjust the consistency of the gravy according to your taste.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves & serve with roti, rice & onion.
