In my last post, I had mention the things I need to do before Ramadan. And in fact have started with it. Making all the mixes , purees and conserve for milk shakes is on the top list. This comes in handy and I don’t have to waste more time thinking what  cold beverage to make on each day.

Most of the time our choice  is to prepare  Roohafza with milk &  Tukhmebalanga (Basil Seeds) . But alternatively , I try to add  variety so they don’t get bored of same beverage everyday. Well by meaning they is I give iftar to few people daily. And my iftar is quite elaborate ( beverage, pakora, one chicken/meat snack, sweet and assorted fruits).That’s the reason for prepping so much. Strawberry Cardamom Conserve

Alhamdolilha its been more than 10 yrs. Living far away from home, these people also get home cooked food and I also earn a little sawab by giving them Iftar. May Allah SWT accepts it. Ameen. Now to the recipe of Strawberry Cardamom Conserve

Ingredients

400 gm Strawberry (fresh or frozen)

3 pods of cardamom crushed

1 cup jaggery powder

1/4 cup water

 

Method

  • In a pan, put all the ingredients.
  • Put on medium flame.
  • Cook till jaggery has dissolved and mixture is thick in consistency.
  • In between keep mushing strawberries with back of spoon.
  • When thick in consistency remove from flame & Cool
  • Pour in air tight glass jar.
  • Store in fridge & Use as required.
